After receiving an annexation request and conducting a public hearing, on December 19, 2023, The Travis County Emergency Services District No. 9 Board of Commissioners passed a resolution approving the annexation of territory and by separate order approved an election of such annexation pursuant to Texas Health and Safety Code Section 775.051. Information pertaining to the election will be provided below:
Lost Creek Annexation Election Canvass
The Lost Creek Annexation Election passed in both the Lost Creek area and Travis County ESD No. 9 area. The Board of Commissioners have passed the election canvass resolution below to certify the election results. More information will be provided to the Lost Creek community regarding the transition of services as Travis County ESD No. 9 and the City of Austin complete planning.

What is an Emergency Services District?
Travis County Emergency Services District No. 9, also known as the Westlake Fire Department, has received a petition from Lost Creek property owners and registered voters to be annexed into the Emergency Services District. The Travis County Emergency Services District No. 9 Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the matter (Date, Time, and Location TBA). If the Board of Commissioners elect to call an election on the matter, the election will be held during the May 2024 general election.
Public Hearing
Travis County Emergency Services District No. 9 will hold a hearing beginning 6:30 pm on December 5, 2023, at Valley View Elementary, located at 1201 S. Capital of Texas Hwy., West Lake Hills, TX 78746, to hear comments from the public regarding the possible annexation of territory commonly known as Lost Creek comprised of approximately 903 acres. The territory is comprised of the following two parcels of land:
738 acres west of the intersection of Lost Creek Boulevard and Capital of Texas Highway, being the property that was the subject of City of Austin Annexation Ordinance No. 20151110-A007; and
165 acres north of Lost Creek Boulevard approximately 380 feet west of the intersection of Lost Creek Boulevard and Bend of the River Drive, being the property that was the subject of City of Austin Annexation Ordinance No. 20151110-A006.
